Indonesia’s Mount Raung has been spewing ash for several weeks, creating forecasted dangerous ash clouds over Denpasar Airpot.
On Friday, Australian airlines Virgin Australia and Jetstar grounded Bali-bound flights. The airlines advised passengers to monitor the situation online.
In a statement by Virgin Australia, the airline explained that “conditions remain unsuitable for operations into and out of Denpasar Airport today”.
Mount Raung’s eruptions have caused flight chaos since July.
