Rapper T.I. apologizes over comments made about a female president

Today, Rapper T.I. took to Twitter to apologize for comments he had previously made about the possibility of a female president.

During an interview with DJ Whoo Kidd, T.I. made a disclaimer of sorts “I’m not sexist, but. . .”

And of course, it went downhill from there.

“. . .but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman,”

“Just because every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well.”

“Every other position. But the president, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally and later they make very permanent cemented decisions and then later, it’s kinda like, it didn’t happen or they didn’t mean for it to happen. I sure would hate to just set off a nuke,” he continued.

Ironically, T.I. acknowledged his belief that Trump would be a great benefit to the U.S., but that he couldn’t vote for him due to racist comments he has made.

After several social media backlash, T.I. did some backtracking.

Today, he tweeted “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended.”

People are not so quick to forgive, unfortunately.

His tweet earned him some unhappy replies.

“T.I., since women are “too rash” to be president, are you assuming some judgments made by past presidents weren’t? That’s clearly false.”

Perhaps Trump should reflect on some of his own rashness before casting stones.
