Pokemon Go, Nintendo’s augmented reality mobile app from developer Niantic Labs is being released today in Australia and New Zealand for both iOS and Android. The app’s Play Store listing and the App Store link are here.
The way the game works is the app utilizes your phone camera, sensors, and location to put Pokemon in your real surroundings. As you travel to notable landmarks around your city, you’re able to capture Pokemon and then train and battle them at gyms. The app is free but offers microtransactions and a $35 wrist-worn wearable will be out later this month.
