About a dozen protesters showed up to wave Confederate flags as President Obama’s motorcade drove into Oklahoma City and outside the hotel where the President was staying Wednesday night.
The leader of the protest was an African-American man named Andrew Duncomb, who told KFOR, “We don’t believe it’s a symbol of racism,” “They’re blaming the racist problems on the flag and not on the real problems of America.”
“Again, look at these people, they all followed the black guy out here. Do you think that any of them are racists?”
There were also protesters outside Durant High School, where the President gave a speech about economic opportunity.
